  JGNAT always has great advise and insight as you see... hit the nail on the head.

  The ONLY thing i see... honestly since i'm in the middle of all this... is AT LEAST you got a letter. All my friends whom i thought i was so incredibly close with left me without a blink... and i'm not DFed or anything!

  I dont know, so try to at least see that she is thinking of you... in a sick, mindcontrolled, damn cult way, but it's her way of showing freakish love at least.

  Elders don't close their eyes when they pray

  when i was a hardcore jw, i closed my eyes and paid attention to the prayer, because i believed we were communicating with god.

  what a privilege!

  now, it has been some time since i closed my eyes when the jws pray.

  My buddy who was all ready to get baptized, went over the questions and everything was NOT allowed to because he had his eyes open when he prayed. He also would like roll his neck while the prayer... the brothers knew he had neck/back issues, but aparently Jeh didn't like it and didn't think he was good enough! He ended up killing himself.

  i have been on this board for 7 or 8 years, i have learned a great deal from all of you, but it is time for me to move on and put my life in a different direction.

  so i say so long, who knows maybe sometime in the future i will pop in and say hi.

  thanks to all of you who have done a great deal for me, i have learned a lot about cult religions and a lot about myself.

  i was talking to my brother, who remembered an elder who came (in the mundane sense) on a regular basis to talk to us for shepherding calls.. sadly i now realise we got all these calls on cold winter sudays, because with unbaptized kids they could count the time.

  ( i used to think the borg just cared more in those days).

  anyway - this time he went on and on about apostates, it was just before the dc.

  Wow. that quote is amazing. pretty much says it all.

  But also great letter. They are an organization filled with hatred towards anyone who is not their own, or whom they view as a threat. That sounds pretty evil to me.

  hello and welcome!

  You know, i just got done reading a book that ... i didn't care for the way it was written, but at the end there is a great section on "what to ask witnesses" and being a witness i could say these would work great without confronting him and making him mad. You just come across as the "concerned and curious"father... it's worth a shot. The book is 'captives of a concept". it's a real short read, but the back chapters or 2 have that info in it, you might find it quite useful~!

  when i even started reading COC. half way thru it.. i kept telling my husband ... we have to move..there's no other way to get out of this... and we HAVE to get out!!!!

  We didn't end up moving, why give them that much control?

  but immediately with that book i knew. I tried one or 2 more meetings, but i was freaked out the whole time, wanted to run for the doors.

  THat was it! i wont say it's not hard as HELL, giving it up isn't easy. but proving it wrong... that's easy!

  I'm proud to know you. It really shows you are an intelligent man and went with pure motives... they ended up digging themselves in the hole. Its amazing more people don't put these things together while they're there...but then again... .DONT have an INDEPENDANT thought!!!!

  oh man... this weekend was a DOOZY......

  LOTS of Captin and pineapple juice and Canada dry..... yummy yummy.... but i was SO hungover ALL DAY sunday... i perked up around 7PM, then felt sick around 11, went to bed... woke up this morning ok, worked out.. then got SUDDENLY... SICK again... now i still feel sick.

  Can i still be sick from Saturday NIGHT?? (we were up till 4)
